Classic Swatch watches have an acrylic crystal that can easily get light hairline scratches. You can easily polish them back to brand new, crystal-clear condition using PolyWatch paste and a soft microfiber cloth.

While vintage Swatches were originally water-resistant, aging rubber seals can become brittle. Avoid swimming, hot showers, saunas, and steam rooms with vintage watches to prevent internal condensation.

Clean plastic straps with mild soap and lukewarm water. Leather straps should not be exposed to water or moisture. Avoid direct contact with perfume, cologne, hairspray, and chemical cleaners.

Keep your analog watches away from magnetic fields found in speakers, laptops, mobile phones, and magnetic clasps. Exposure to magnetism can cause quartz and mechanical watches to run fast, slow, or stop completely.

If you own an automatic Swatch (like Sistem51 or vintage mechanicals), wear it regularly to keep the lubricants flowing. To manually wind the movement, turn the crown clockwise gently until you feel resistance—never force it.

Do not expose your watch to extreme temperature changes or leave it in direct sunlight for extended periods (such as on a car dashboard). High heat can dry out lubricants, age plastic parts, and fade vintage dials.

Vintage plastic cases can become fragile and brittle over time. Store your vintage Swatches in a padded case or watch drawer, away from humidity, damp environments, and high-impact vibrations or falls.
